IPL 2016 Qualifier 2, GL vs SRH Playing 11: Probable XI for Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Confirmed XI)

Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum will have a major role to play if Gujarat are to succeed
Deadly opener David Warner will have to lead from the front

Here's the likely team which might play for Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Batting

The Australian left-hander, David Warner has lead his team from the front and is currently second top scorer overall with 686 runs at an astonishing average of 52.76 and a deadly strike rate of 147 with as many as 7 fifties. Indian international opener Shikhar Dhawan has thoroughly supported the Aussie at the top with 473 runs from his 15 innings.

Coming back from his toe injury, Yuvraj Singh has also been in decent touch and has contributed with few good cameos in the 8 innings that he has played. He is a big match player and one can easily foresee that one match winning knock during the Qualifier 2. Other international stars like Moises Henriques, Ben Cutting and talented New Zealander Kane Williamson have been below par this season and need to up their game and play according to their reputation.

Wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha and hard hitter Deepak Hooda have also been disappointing with averages of 14.87 and 11.41 respectively.

All-rounders

While batting and bowling look settled for Hyderabad, the slot of an all-rounder is where they particularly lack. Moises Henriques has been their best all-rounder this season with 163 runs and 12 wickets. While Yuvraj Singh’s all-round abilities are yet to be efficiently utilized by the SRH captain, Deepak Hooda has been decent with the little bowling that he has done this season.

Bowling

The fast, fiery and swinging pace attack of SRH has been sensational and awe inspiring throughout the season and has rarely disappointed to impress. With increased pace and reinvention of his mojo to ‘Swing 3 out, bring 4th in’, Bhuveshwar Kumar has been a standout performer this season and is currently holding the purple cap with 21 wickets in 15 matches.

Talented Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman has supported the Indian pacer well with his incredible variations, slower deliveries, and controlled line and length bowling. He has claimed 16 wickets at an exceptional economy rate of 6.73.

Young Indian bowler Barinder Sran has also been impressive with 13 wickets so far and has provided a great support. The only concern for SRH in bowling is their spin department which has struggled throughout the tournament.

Probable Playing XI

David Warner (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, Deepak Hooda, Ben Cutting, Naman Ojha (wk), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Barinder Sran, Mustafizur Rahman, Bipul Sharma.
