After a nerve-wrecking one run win over the Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Shane Watson credited Virat Kohli for the way he has been using him in this tournament. Watson also credited Kohli for instilling confidence in him and also letting him set the field.

Watson, who won the Man of the Match award last night for his brilliant spell of 2 for 22 in 4 overs, also sounded very happy as his team finished on the right side of a close encounter. He pointed out that the win was very important for them as they were eager to carry on their winning momentum.

Talking about his skipper, Watson said, "Virat has been using me in one over spells early on in the innings and then more towards the back end depending on where it suits the team the most. I am happy to bowl anywhere Virat (needs me). He instills a lot of confidence in me, he lets me sort of choose the balls and allows me to set my fields accordingly as well - with his input a lot of the time as well. It`s been great to work under him and he`s using me very nicely."

In the match, batting first RCB managed to put up 175 on the board largely due to the efforts of their superstar batsman AB de Villiers who scored a brisk 64 off just 35 balls. However, KXIP started the chase on a positive note as their skipper was Murali Vijay was timing the ball beautifully.

They looked well on course to achieve the target and it was the key wicket of Vijay that tilted the game in RCB’s favour.

It was Watson who broke the opening partnership between Hashim Amla and Murali Vijay which was threatening to take the game away from RCB. Watson got rid of Amla with a well-directed short ball. The veteran all-rounder came back and picked up the key wicket of Murali Vijay who scored a magnificent 89 off just 57 deliveries.

Watson also pointed out that Kohli is someone who tries to get the best out of everybody. The Australian also hailed Kohli for being “tactically strong”.

On asked about his long discussion with AB de Villiers before the 19th over, Watson admitted that the talk was about Farhan Behardein who played in the last game. The 34-year-old Australian all-rounder said it was good to have a chat with AB regarding Behardein as he hadn’t played much against him.

Watson surely is loving his skipper.
