On March 31, Royal Challengers Bangalore gave Bengal’s Prayas Ray Barman his IPL debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The leg-spinner became the youngest debutant in IPL history at the age of 16 years and 157 days. He broke the record of Afghanistan’s spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, who made his debut for Kings XI Punjab in 2018 at the age of 17 years and 11 days.

#7 Youngest bowler to take a hat-trick in the IPL - Sam Curran (20 years and 302 days)

There were some spectacular batting collapses this season but perhaps the biggest was when Delhi Capitals went from 144/3 with 21 balls left to play to 152 all out, while chasing 167.

In that game, Sam Curran took the first hat-trick of the season aged 20 years and 302 days, becoming the youngest player in IPL history to do so. The previous record belonged to Rohit Sharma who took a hat-trick for Deccan Chargers against Mumbai Indians in 2009 at the age of 22.

Interestingly, Curran later revealed he did not realize that he had taken a hat-trick as the first of his three scalps came at the end of the 18th over and the next two wickets were taken in the first two balls of the 20th over.
