IPL 2019: 3 biggest match-winners for Delhi Capitals
The IPL auctions are done and dusted, and the teams are all ready to go. Every team has some players who could potentially play a significant role in how far their team will go in the tournament.
Previously known as the Delhi Daredevils, the Capitals will like to turn their fortunes this time around with a completely new setup. They have built a young team around a young captain, Shreyas Iyer and they will hope that these young guns reap rewards for them.
So, here is a look at three such players of Delhi Capitals who have the potential of changing their team's fortunes:
This young 19-year-old prodigy from Mumbai was picked up by the Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in the 2018 auction. He scored well in the limited opportunities he got and the Delhi team has decided to keep him for this season too.
Following last year's IPL, Prithvi had a very productive 2018, where he made the cut into the Indian test team. On the highest level too he has not failed to impress, as he scored 237 runs in just 3 innings which also included his maiden test ton on debut.
He is surely going to open the batting for Delhi this year alongside Shikhar Dhawan. His aggressive style of batting and his sense of the game is what makes him very special.
Shaw is one hell of a find for Delhi and will only improve in the years to follow. He has that capability to turn matches around and will hopefully turn games for this team and that might turn the points table for them as well as they have a history of lingering at the bottom of the it.
Rishabh Pant is another young wicket-keeper batsman who has proved his worth for the Indian team. He is a very aggressive player who already has a ton and 8 half centuries in 38 matches he has played in the IPL.
He is someone who finds himself at home while striking the white ball all around the park. He can be very extremely destructive on his good days. So, when he is on a roll, he is a complete runaway match winner without a second thought.
Trent Boult is a well known pacer from New Zealand and has been a part of the IPL for quite some time now and knows how the Indian pitches are. He is a pacer who can rake up high speeds consistently and his variations are becoming more and more deadly with each passing day.
With the current form of the New Zealand team, he has also been performing quite well. If he is able to carry that form into the IPL, he could well be in the running for the purple cap. He can be very useful in the death overs too. So overall, when Boult delivers, his team goes closer to winning the match. Delhi will hope that he can deliver the goods for them more often than not.
