Another big problem that SRH faced this year was the inconsistency of their lower-middle order. Time and again, SRH didn't make the most out of the slog overs which left them short of the victory line. Deepak Hooda was one of those batsmen who didn't really have a good IPL.
Hooda has a reputation of being a hard hitter of the ball, but we didn't really see his full potential. In the 11 matches he played this season, he scored just 64 runs at an average of 10 and a strike rate of 101. His strike rate is the thing which would have bothered SRH as Hooda spent most of his time batting in the slog overs. A strike rate of just over 100 just isn't good enough at the IPL level.
This is not the first time Hooda has disappointed for SRH and his inconsistent performances might leave SRH with no choice but to release him.
