#2 Warner to break Kohli's 973 runs record

Kohli amassed a total of 973 runs including four centuries in IPL 2016.

While talking about IPL records which are incredibly tough to break, Virat Kohli's feat of scoring the most runs in a single IPL season is perhaps the most hardest. However, Australia's David Warner has shown signs of breaking the record this season.

Warner, after spending a tough 12 months out of cricket, looks all set to light us the IPL stage this season. The Aussie has already scored over 250 runs in just three innings, including a century and two 50s. If Warner continues his supreme form throughout the tournament, he can overcome Kohli to set a new record and may even cross the 1,000 runs barrier.

David Warner seems all set to threaten Kohli's 973-run record and it might well happen in this edition of the IPL.

#1 CSK fail to make it to the playoffs

CSK is the only team to make it to the playoffs in every IPL tournament they've featured in.

Although the Chennai Super Kings have lost just one out of their first four matches, their batting and bowling department doesn't seem too threatening. Although they're still good-looking on paper, their players haven't been in good form recently.

CSK's batting department looks a bit weakened. Also, MS Dhoni might have to change CSK's bowling plans if the opposition batsmen dismiss Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur early on. So far, Dhoni's Plan A has been working well for the team and Plan B is yet to have been put into action.

All CSK have to do is finish in the top four after the 14 league matches, but given their bowling attack, it might just be difficult for them this season. Dwayne Bravo no longer seems to be the vintage death bowling specialist he used to be before. In fact, he has one of the worst economy rates in the death overs since 2018 in the IPL.

The absence of Lungi Ngidi could also hurt CSK's chances. If one of the teams in the IPL exposes CSK's bowling worries, the rest of the teams will try to repeat it. In such a situation, CSK might eventually lose matches consistently.

So this might be the first ever IPL season featuring CSK where they've not managed to book a seat for the playoffs.
