Like Switzerland is known for its chocolates, Afghanistan has come to be known for its spinners! The handful of players from Afghanistan who are regulars across various T20 tournaments are all spinners - Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi (he is a spinning all-rounder though).

18-year-old leg-spinner Qais Ahmad seems all set to join the bandwagon. In recent years franchises have shown a tendency to pick mystery spinners, including the likes of Mujeeb and Rashid. Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane too was picked by the Daredevils this season. Lamichhane, in fact, has even gone on to represent many other franchises including Montreal Tigers, St. Kitts and the Nangarhar Leopards.

Although Qais hasn't set the stage on fire as yet, his unfamiliarity can come across as an X-factor. Impressing with his performances for the under-19 national team, he represented the St. Lucia Stars during the CPL. He even impressed in the just concluded Afghanistan Premier League.
