#4 Nitish Rana (KKR)

Nitish Rana was one of the few uncapped Indians who made a mark in this year's edition of IPL. He has batted across several positions for his side and played few vital knocks.
When all the KKR fans were expecting the likes of Robin Uthappa, Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik to perform well, Rana has unexpectedly risen to the occasion and became the unsung hero of their side. He was willing to put his hand up to bat at any position for his team.
Probably KKR missed a trick by not giving him a fixed spot. A fixed spot would have given more clarity on his role and would have enhanced his contribution to the team.

#5 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (CSK)

Right from the beginning of this year, Dhoni has been in tremendous form. After winning the man of series against Australia in the ODI series, Dhoni carried on his form into the IPL. Time and again he has bailed out Super Kings from precarious situations and played several match-winning innings.
The way he pulverized several bowlers during the last few overs of the innings clearly highlights that he has got his mojo back. In fact, this season, he has over fifty percent of his runs during the last three overs of the innings.
In order to defend the title, Dhoni's role would be crucial in the finals.
