IPL 2019, Match 5, DC vs CSK: Player of the Match
Continuing their dominance from the last season, the Chennai Super Kings, on Tuesday won, their second consecutive match of ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), as they defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickers at Feroz Shah Kotla.
The defending champions displayed fabulous bowling display in both the matches, restricting the opposition for a paltry total. After rattling Royal Challengers Bangalore under 70 runs in the first match, the Men in Blue also restricted Delhi Capitals on 147 runs total.
This time, it was Dwayne Bravo who did the job with the ball. The Windies cricketer scalped three wickets while leaked 33 runs in his four overs. Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja, Imran Tahir and Deepak Chahar chipped in with a wicket each.
For Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan scored a fighting fifty while as Rishabh Pant played a fiery cameo of 25 runs.
In reply, Chennai lost Ambati Rayudu early in the race, however, experienced campaigner Shane Watson took the game in the control. The right-handed batsman made crucial 44 runs, setting the platform for the batsmen to follow.
Suresh Raina also joined the party as he made quick-fire 30 runs in 16 balls. Though, after his departure, the CSK innings fumbled a bit. They played too many dot balls, taking the game into the last over.
Skipper MS Dhoni remained not out on 32 runs off 35 balls, taking Chennai home with six wickets in hand. Jadhav also chipped in with 27 runs in the middle, playing 34 balls. It was the second straight win for CSK while Delhi have now lost and won a game each.
Meanwhile, Bravo for his three wickets (which included dismissals of Capital's dangerous trio of Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram) is the Player of the Match.
