Sunrisers Hyderabad are traditionally known for their strong bowling line-up. The Hyderabad-based franchise has lifted the coveted trophy only once despite making playoffs thrice in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

Over the years, SRH have been mentored by some of the greats of the game, including the likes of VVS Laxman, Tom Moody, Muttiah Muralitharan, while the modern-day stars like Kumar Sangakkara, Yuvraj Singh, Lokesh Rahul, Mustafizur Rahman have had a chance to represent the franchise.

However, there have been some specialists of the T20 format who have not got a chance to play for SRH in IPL despite being picked in the auctions.

Let us take a look at those four players whose services have never been utilized by SRH

#4 Chris Lynn

The inclusion of Chris Lynn in this list will flabbergast many. The hard-hitting batsman from Australia was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for their debut season in 2013 but didn't manage to feature in a single match that season.

The 28-year-old was later bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 auctions and has thus far scored 661 runs in 22 innings at an average of 34.79 and a strike rate of 147 in the Indian T20 League, with his 93 against Gujarat Lions in IPL 10 being his best.

The swashbuckling opener has been providing some solid starts for KKR this season by scoring 277 in 10 innings at an average of 30.78.

Had SRH tested Lynn in 2013 they would have found a pillar to their slightly weaker batting line-up.

#3 Ben Laughlin

Not many had heard the name of Ben Laughlin before the auctions of IPL 10. The right-arm pacer has represented Australia in 5 ODIs 3 and T20s picking a total of 6 wickets.

But the 35-year-old has been absolutely majestic in the Big Bash League. The Aussie has thus far picked up 80 wickets in 64 matches representing Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers over the years.

The Victoria-born bowler was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 10 auctions but ended up warming the bench for the entire season before being signed by Rajasthan Royals for the eleventh edition of the IPL.

The medium pacer has thus far scalped 6 wickets in 7 IPL games representing Chennai Super Kings in 2013 and Rajasthan Royals this season. Laughlin has picked 5 of those wickets this season representing Rajasthan Royals in as many matches.

#2 Brendan Taylor

Brendan Taylor was the pillar of Zimbabwe's batting line-up for a long time. The 32-year-old represented Zimbabwe in all three formats and currently holds the record for most number of ODI centuries (10) by a Zimbabwean.

The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the seventh edition of IPL as a substitute for wicketkeeper Naman Ojha. However, the Harare-born cricketer never got a chance to play in a single match that season and went unsold in the seasons thereafter.

#1 Clint McKay

The tall fast bowler from Australia, Clint McKay, was an integral part of their ODI side. McKay has picked 97 wickets representing Australia in 59 ODIs.

The 35-year-old was first signed by Mumbai Indians in 2012 and only managed to play two matches, picking a solitary wicket.

He remained unsold in the 2013 auctions but was later roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the seventh edition of the IPL but was left matchless for the entire season.
