It should come as no surprise by now that most teams in the IPL love to play against Delhi Capitals. Chennai Super Kings is one of those teams that have dominated Delhi over the years. Hence, it should not be a surprise to find Delhi on this list for the second time.

This match took place at the 2012 edition of the IPL when CSK took on DC at Chennai. By now, Chennai had built an impenetrable fortress at home and Delhi really had their work cut out for them if they were to walk away with the win.

Delhi won the toss and elected to field first. Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey opened the batting for CSK. It was Vijay’s day to shine with the bat. As wickets tumbled at the other end, Vijay anchored the innings on his way to a masterful century scoring 113 runs.

Notable cameos from MS Dhoni (23 runs from 10 balls) and Dwayne Bravo (33 runs from 12 balls) ensured that CSK reaches a total of 222/5 in 20 overs.

In response, Delhi Capitals barely put up a fight and were bowled out for just 136 runs. The only saving grace for DC was Mahela Jayawardene’s half-century.

A deserving Murali Vijay was adjudged the man of the match for his match-winning knock.
