“Can’t wait to work together again” - Australian cricketer’s wife comments on Varun Aaron’s retirement post

Indian fast bowler Varun Aaron announced his retirement from all formats of representative cricket on Friday, January 10. Soon after his announcement on Instagram, Aaron received a message from Australian cricketer Ben Cutting's wife Erin Holland, who is a TV host.

Although Varun Aaron was active in cricket, he also worked as a commentator for some tournaments during the latter phases of his career. At that time, he worked with Erin Holland.

Reacting to Aaron's retirement, Holland wrote that the cricket field's loss was the media box's gain. Here's what she commented:

"What a career. Crickets loss is broadcasts gain too. Can't wait to work together again."

Varun's former teammates also dropped comments under the post. Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Mayank Agarwal wrote:

"Many congratulations bro. wishing you the best ahead."

Former Indian cricketer Rohan Gavaskar also chimed in and commented:

"Well done on a wonderful career."

Gujarat Titans send a message to Varun Aaron after his retirement

Varun Aaron played his last IPL season for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2022, which they won. In what was Gujarat's first season in the league, Aaron featured in their first-ever playing XI for a match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Mumbai. Incidentally, LSG were also making their debut in the IPL that season.

Although GT released Aaron after the 2022 season, they acknowledged his contributions to the franchise following his retirement announcement. The Titans uploaded a picture of him holding the IPL trophy after the final of the 2022 season with the caption:

"All the best for your next innings, Varun! Enjoy your retirement."

Considering Aaron was one of the fastest bowlers to have played for India, he can make a career in coaching following his retirement. And with experience in broadcasting, he can also return to the commentary box in the future.
