Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) comfortably by nine wickets in the 45th match of IPL 2024 on Sunday, April 28. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosted the clash. RCB remained in the 10th spot in the points table despite a commanding victory.
GT batted first in the contest after losing the toss and notched up 200/3 in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan led the way for the hosts with a brilliant inning of 84 (49). Shahrukh Khan (58) and David Miller (26*) supported him with aggressive knocks. Swapnil Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and Glenn Maxwell picked up a wicket each for the Royal Challengers in the bowling department.
It was one-way traffic in the chase as RCB galloped to 206/1 in 16 overs to win the match without dropping much sweat. Captain Faf du Plessis gave a quick start with a cameo of 24 (12) in the steep chase. His opening partner, Virat Kohli, anchored the chase with an impactful knock of 70 (44). In his company, Will Jacks smashed a 41-ball century to propel Royal Challengers to a thumping win.
