Rohit Sharma's car mobbed by fans as MI star leaves Wankhede Stadium after T20 Mumbai 2025 final [Watch]

Star Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma's car was mobbed by fans while he was leaving the Wankhede Stadium after the T20 Mumbai 2025 final. The T20 Mumbai 2025 final was played on Thursday, June 12, between SoBo Mumbai Falcons and Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals.

Rohit Sharma was in attendance at the Wankhede Stadium to witness the final. He also presented the trophy and medals to the winning team and the runners-up after the game during the presentation ceremony.

As the star MI batter was leaving the stadium after the final in his black Range Rover, fans outside crowded around his car to catch a glimpse of the star cricketer. Eventually, the police and security officials had to intervene to push the fans away and let the car move. The fans could also be heard chanting 'Rohit Rohit' as the car moved by.

Rohit Sharma will be seen leading India in ODIs post the IPL 2025 season

Rohit Sharma was last seen playing for MI in the IPL 2025 season. The right-handed opener scored 418 runs from 15 matches at an average of 29.85 and a strike-rate of 149.28 with four half-centuries and a top score of 81. MI made it to the playoffs but lost in the Eliminator, which brought an end to their campaign.

Rohit recently announced his retirement from Test cricket ahead of the England tour. After leading India to victory at the 2024 T20 World Cup, he had also announced his retirement from T20Is. He will now be seen playing only ODI cricket for India.

As the Men in Blue play Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series in August later this year, Rohit Sharma will be seen leading the Indian team. Post the Bangladesh series, India will also play an ODI series against Australia in October. With the 2027 ODI World Cup still relatively far away, it will be interesting to see if Rohit will carry on till then and lead the team in the marquee ICC event.
