Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting all-rounder Shivam Dube continued his destructive form this season against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Chepauk Stadium on April 23.

The 30-year-old walked in at No. 5 with the innings slightly stalled by a 19-ball 16 from Ravindra Jadeja. However, Dube immediately took the attack to the opposition, smashing seven sixes in his 27-ball 66.

The tall left-hander reached his half-century off only 22 deliveries, propelling CSK to a massive total of 210/4 in 20 overs. Dube's breathtaking knock took his season tally to 311 runs at an average of 51.83 and a strike rate of almost 170 in eight outings. Renowned for his ability to intimidate spinners, the southpaw's presence saw LSG bowl just two overs each of Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya.

Fans on Twitter were extremely impressed by Dube's high-impact knock and called for selection to the Indian T20 World Cup squad.

"We have scored a lot of runs, we are 10-15 runs above par" - Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube felt CSK's total of 210/4 against LSG was well above par on the Chennai wicket on Tuesday.

The home side were led by a brilliant unbeaten 60-ball 108 from Ruturaj Gaikwad. He, along with Dube, provided the innings the impetus with a 104-run partnership.

At the mid-innings break, Shivam Dube told the broadcasters:

"Rutu needed 1 over to recover after playing for a long time so I decided to take the bowler on. We have scored a lot of runs, we are 10-15 runs above par. We definitely need to bowl well but we have got 10 runs more. Enjoyed a lot when Rutu bats, his class is on a different level."

The two teams played against each other in their last game, with LSG coming out on top by eight wickets.

With both sides on four wins from seven games, the winner of the ongoing clash will be in the top four with the other in fifth.
