Pak vs NZ Head to Head

The first Test match between these two was played from 13 to 17 October, 1955. Pakistan won the match by an innings and 1 run. New Zealand’s first win against Pakistan in Test cricket came in 1965 at Rawalpindi. Wins were far and few between for the Kiwis in the longest format of the game till late 2014. After 2014, New Zealand has dominated and won seven out of eight matches these two have played against each other.

Their first encounter in ODI cricket took place on 11 February 1973 in Christchurch. Till 2003, Pakistan dominated heavily, especially in the 1990s and early 2000s. But after 2004, the Black Caps have totally dominated this rivalry in ODI cricket, winning 24 matches against Pakistan’s nine wins.

The Pakistani side has also dominated in the shortest format of the game. The first T20I match between these two teams was the first semi final of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 where Pakistan defeated New Zealand to progress to the final. Even their next encounter was in a T20 World Cup match and had the same result. New Zealand’s first T20I win against Pakistan came in 2010 where they went on to win three back-to-back matches against them
