The jersey for the Rising Supergiants team for the IPL season was unveiled at an event on Monday, where team owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain MS Dhoni interacted with journalists.
Dhoni thanked the Pune franchise for picking him and said that it felt strange to be leading a different IPL team after eight years with Chennai Super Kings. He also said that the squad composition has thrown up some questions, all of which will be resolved soon.
Rising Pune Supergiants is one of the two new sides in the IPL this year.

During the 2016 players draft, this team picked up MS Dhoni, Ajinkiya Rahane, and Ravichandran Ashwin, along with a couple of big foreign names in Steve Smith and Faf Du Plessis. It also appointed MS Dhoni as its captain and Stephen Fleming as the coach of the side.
In the IPL auctions held on 6th Feb, this team succeeded in getting a lot of intelligent buys and was praised for their choices. It lapped up quite a few good Indian and foreign players on its side.
Some of the prominent Indian players picked in the auctions include Ishant Sharma, RP Singh, Irfan Pathan and Ashok Dinda.

The foreign names which this team picked up in the IPL auctions include Kevin Pieterson, Mitchell Marsh, Thisara Perera, Scot Boland and Adam Zampa. These are the overseas picks for the team, apart from the two foreign players already picked up in the players’ draft.
