Sreesanth embarrassed by 12 year old fan

IPL fixing row

In a story that shows how hard the fixing scandal in the IPL has hit the country, Tushar, a 12 year old die-hard fan of the disgraced bowler Sreesanth, left him embarrassed when he was produced in front of a Delhi court today.

The young 8th grader stayed in the court for two hours as he tried to get the attention of the cricketer. Sreesanth finally turned around to talk to the youngster, asking him as he shook hands with him, “What’s up?”.

Then as the prosecution and defence argued the case, he asked the cricketer in a hushed voice a question that shocked and embarrassed Sreesanth, “Kya yaar, spot fixing kyu kiya (Why did you spot- fix)?”

The reply was a whisper, “Yaar, maine nahi kiya (I did not do it).”

The answer, though, wasn’t enough for the child who kept peppering the bowler and the assembled media about the defence’s case.

He still managed to get an autograph from the bowler who scribbled a message along with his signature – “Dear Tushaar..Please do pray for me!”
