This is one of his best innings in the IPL

This would be considered the most destructive knock by Pollard in his T20 career.

Electing to bat first Sunrisers Hyderabad put up a solid total of 178/3 in their allocated 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians were struggling at 99/3 with 78 runs to get of 32 balls.

Pollard walked into the crease to accompany his Captain Sharma. He had a sedate start to his innings scoring only nine runs of his first 10 balls.

With 62 runs to win from 24 runs what followed was absolute Mayhem at the Wankhede Stadium.

Thisara Perera was given the ball to bowl the 17th over.

The first ball of the over was smashed for a SIX by Sharma who followed it up with a single of the second ball. Pollard smashed the 3rd ball of the over for a FOUR towards the deep mid-wicket boundary.

He then hit the 4th ball of the over for a SIX straight down the ground. There was no respite for Perera as the last two balls of the over were clobbered for two SIXES, one straight down the ground and the other over wide long-on. 29 runs were scored off the over and Perera was shattered.

The over read 6.1.4.6.6.6

Leggie Amit Mishra was given the 18th over to pick up a wicket. Sharma took a single of the first ball handing over the strike to Pollard.

The mighty right-hander launched into the leg-spinner clobbering him for two gigantic sixes of the second and third ball of the over.

He missed a googly of the fourth ball, attempting for his sixth maximum. A rattled Amit Mishra bowled a waist-high full toss which was again smashed into the stands over the deep square leg.

Pollard took a single of the last ball of the over to reach his fastest IPL 50 off just 20 balls.

The West Indian was circumspect against Dale Steyn who bowled the 19th over, which went for only five runs.

With seven runs to win off the last over, the Trinidadian finished the game in style by smashing two gigantic sixes of Perera.

Mumbai Indians registered a famous win at their home thanks to a breathtaking 66 off 27 balls by the mighty man.

He single-handedly turned the game on his head with his destructive batting. Overs 17 and 18 combinedly yielded 50 runs which was the turning point of the game. For his heroics, Pollard was awarded Man of the Match.
