What ethnicity is Max Verstappen?

Max Verstappen has Dutch and Belgian roots. He was born in Hasselt, Belgium on September 30, 1997. He was born to father Jos Verstappen, a Dutch former F1 driver, and mother Sophie Kumpen, a Belgian former karting champion. He chooses to race under the Dutch flag.

Max, who initially held Belgian citizenship, was taken by his father to live in the Netherlands after his parents divorced in 2008. The Red Bull racing driver spent most of his formative years in the Netherlands. He has admitted in the past that even though he was born in Belgium, he feels he is a Dutchman owing to his childhood mostly being in the Netherlands, as per GPFans.
