Max Verstappen, who was born in Hasselt, Belgium on September 30, 1997, represents Red Bull in the Formula One (F1). After starting racing in karts at the age of four, he won the Dutch, Belgian, and Flemish Minimax championships by 2009. He also relished a successful international career in karting as he won the WSK Euro Series in 2011 and both the European KF and KZ championships in 2013, as per reports.

Verstappen started his F1 career with Toro Rosso and made his F1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2015, becoming the youngest driver to compete in the sport at 17 years and 166 days old. He was promoted to Red Bull in 2016. He won his first F1 race at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, becoming the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix at 18 years and 227 days old. He has won four F1 World Drivers' Championships (2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and secured 64 race wins, 42 pole positions, and 115 podium finishes, as of April 2025.

Jos Verstappen, who was born in Montfort, Netherlands on March 4, 1972, is a Dutch former F1 racing driver. He started his F1 career with Benetton in 1994 and raced for Simtek, Footwork, Tyrrell, Stewart, Arrows, and Minardi until 2003. Although he never won a F1 Grand Prix, he did secure a third-place finish twice, once at the 1994 Hungarian Grand Prix and again at the 1994 Belgian Grand Prix. He transitioned to other forms of racing, including rallying and GT, after he retiring from F1.

Sophie Kumpen, who was born in Hasselt, Belgium on October 30, 1975, is a former racing driver and kart racer. She won a host of championships in karting, including the Andrea Margutti Trophy in 1995. She married Jos Verstappen in 1996 and retired from racing after Max Verstappen's birth in 1997. Even after her divorce from Jos in 2008, Sophie remained strongly interested in Max's life and his emerging career in racing, as per reports.
