Fernando Alonso is a Spanish racing driver in the FIA World Formula 1 Championship. He was born on July 29, 1981, in Oviedo, Spain, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time. For the 2025 season, he is currently one of the most experienced drivers on the grid. To pursue his racing career, Alonso began karting at age three.

In 2001, Alonso made his F1 debut with the Minardi Racing team, and later he joined the Renault F1 team. After joining Renault, he created history by becoming the youngest pole-sitter at the Malaysian GP. At 24, he won his first major F1 drivers’ title before doing it again in 2006. As of the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, he holds the record for most race starts in F1, surpassing 400 Grands Prix, and remains a challenging competitor at age 43.

Fernando Alonso’s Contract

Fernando Alonso has signed a two-year contract to be the F1 driver at Aston Martin until the 2026 season, as per the report by BBC Sport. Alonso, who is currently 43 years old, was out of contract at the end of the 2024 season. Before the 2025 season began, he extended his driving agreement till the commencement of the new F1 technical rules and regulations.

Fernando Alonso’s Salary

The current salary of Fernando Alonso is estimated to be about $20 million, according to Spotrac. Alonso’s contract has just been extended, and he will drive for the Aston Martin F1 team at 44. No further information is available for the extension of the contract beyond 2026.

Apart from racing, his earnings also come from various brand endorsements. His most recent sponsorship deal comes with Boss, a German lifestyle brand, and is also associated with Citi, a private bank. Some other sponsorship deals and brands he endorsed are Europcar, Santander, Cajastur, and TAG Heuer. He also has his own museum in Spain, which has 300 of his cars on display for audiences and fans.
