Manchester United hoping to sign Alvaro Morata before their tour of the United States

Manchester Evening News claim that Jose Mourinho wants his striker's situation resolved before his team departs on the pre-season tour to the USA. It is speculated that personal terms are agreed with Alvaro Morata and now only a transfer needs to be agreed.

Real Madrid want £60 million for the striker with United more or less ready to pay the required amount in a structured manner with added bonuses.

Meanwhile, Everton are close to signing Wayne Rooney

The Toffees have done commendable business so far in the transfer period and are on course to make this their best ever summer. Talksport claims that Everton are confident of landing Wayne Rooney with the former Toffee wanting to play in England instead of China or in the MLS.

Everton are set to offer him a leader's role in the side but Rooney will have to take a major pay cut if he wants a return to the Merseyside.
