William "Billy" Horschel is a professional golfer born in Grant-Valkaria, Florida, on December 7, 1986. He went to Bayside High School and then the University of Florida through a scholarship in 2006. His amateur career was rather standout, as he won individual medalist honors in the 2006 U.S. Amateur, and through his collegiate golf, he was a three-time first-team honors, four-time All-American and SEC Player of the Year in 2007 and 2009.

Horschel turned professional in 2009 and won his first professional victory at the 2009 Columbia Championship on the eGolf Professional Tour, over Dane Burkhart. He earned his PGA Tour card by 2010, but because of a wrist injury, he kept on struggling with the card until 2013. However, his most notable wins include, the 2014 Tour Championship (the FedEx Cup) and the 2021 WGC Match Play. Most recently, he had his best major finishes: at the 2024 PGA Championship, he finished tied for eighth place, and at the 2024 Open Championship, he finished tied runner-up with Justin Rose, losing to Xander Schauffele by two strokes.
