Joe Highsmith, an American professional golfer, was born in Lakewood, Washington. He went to Bellarmine Preparatory School and attended Pepperdine University from 2018 to 2022. Between 2016 and 2019, he won four amateur titles, including the 2017 WIAA 4A State Championship and the 2019 Sahalee Players Championship. He has also been a quarterfinalist of the U.S. Amateur consecutively four times from 2018 to 2021. Turning professional in 2022, he joined the PGA Tour. The following season, he joined the Korn Ferry Tour.

After finishing tied for third place at the Korn Ferry Championship, Highsmith earned his PGA Tour card for the 2024 season. However, his rookie season was modest and he somehow managed to preserve his card for the next season. In 2025, he won his first PGA Tour and first overall professional win at the Cognizant Classic, winning with two 6-under 64s, the lowest weekend score in PGA National history. As per the Golf Digest, he is the first player in nine years to go from making the cut to winning the trophy.
