Matthieu Pavon has become a new sensation in the golf industry after his victory in the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open. He is 31 years old and turned professional in 2013. Pavon became the first French player since 1907 to win on the PGA Tour. Pavon holds 6 professional victories in his career as of March 2024.

Pavon played on the Alps Tour in 2014 and 2015. He would later win the Rebetz International Open and the Servizitalia Open in 2014, and 2015 respectively. He reached the final stage of the 2015 European Tour Q School and qualified for the European Tour 2016.

Pavon did not win the 2016 Challenge Tour Tournament but finished second three times, including the Turkish Airlines Tournament, the Montekia Golf Open, and the Foshan Open. He qualified for the final by finishing third at the NBO Golf Classic and qualified for the 2017 European Tour by placing sixth in the Oman Road rankings.

In October 2023, Pavon won his first European Tour Championship, the Acciona Open in Spain. He finished at 261 (23-under) and won by four strokes. He earned his PGA Tour membership for 2024 by finishing 15th on the 2023 European Tour in Dubai.

In February, Matthew Pavon finished third at the A&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California in February 2024. He earned $1.36 million and finished at 15-under-par, two strokes behind winner Wyndham Clark.
