Patrick Reed, an American professional golfer, competes on the LIV Golf League as of April 2025. The San Antonio, Texas, native attended University High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before playing college golf at the University of Georgia and Augusta State University. He won his first amateur title at 16 in the 2006 Junior Open Championship. He also won two state championships in 2006 and 2007. Following his NCAA championship, he turned professional in 2011 and competed on the PGA Tour with sponsor exemptions. He got his PGA Tour card in 2013 and won his first professional tournament, the Wyndham Championship, defeating Jordan Spieth in the playoffs.

Before joining LIV Golf in 2022, Reed won the 2014 and 2020 WGC events, as well as the 2018 Masters Tournament. He also won three President's Cups for the United States in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Furthermore, he competed in the Ryder Cup three times between 2014 and 2018, winning in 2016. He was also given the nickname "Captain America" because of his Ryder Cup performances. As of April 2025, he has won 10 professional wins and has a career-high world ranking of No. 6, achieved in June 2020.
