Seeing Stewart Cink score the lowest round of his career on the PGA Tour at Sea Island is his fondest caddy memory.

In 2012, Ford received a marketing degree from Otterbein University in Westerville. He played four years for the men's golf team, winning three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) titles. He was prepared for me to begin working for a nearby company as an online marketing agent. However, that job didn't begin until the autumn. So, when his friend Maddie Sheils asked if he'd caddie for her at the US amateur, he answered, "Sure."

After that week, Sheils made the decision to try her hand at Q School and become a professional. She wanted to play professional golf for a year on the Symetra Tour since she didn't think she was ready to play on the LPGA. She invited him to caddie for her out there, so he decided to become a full-time caddie.

Ford describes Joe Skovron, Ludvig Aberg’s caddie, as his "big brother on tour" and credits Skovron for supporting him all along. Ford first got to know Skovron when his collegiate team was paired with La Verne University for the NCAA tournament. Regardless, Ford became the youngest caddie on tour, proving that it was a good decision.
