Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty are two of the biggest brands in gaming. Both are set to launch new entries soon, the former with GTA 6 and the latter with Black Ops 6. Rockstar Games released the first official trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto title in December 2023, whereas Treyarch has been dropping teasers for its upcoming title over the last few days.

While both franchises are quite different in terms of gameplay, fans appear excited about their arrival.

Interestingly, X user @BryceHomer_ pointed out how Call of Duty's Black Ops franchise went from two to six within the same time the Grand Theft Auto series went from five to six:

The last Black Ops title, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, was released in November 2020, whereas GTA 5 dropped back in September 2013. Grand Theft Auto fans have had to wait a long time for a new title in the series, but an official GTA 6 release window has finally been announced.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 might release before GTA 6

A live-action reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was uploaded on social media just hours ahead of this writing and a worldwide reveal has been announced for June 9, 2024. Meanwhile, the GTA 6 trailer 2 could be months away since its release window has been set for fall 2025.

While an official release window for Black Ops 6 is yet to be announced, it is expected to launch later this year, especially since another Black Ops title is heavily rumored to launch in 2025.

Thus, gamers may get hold of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 long before GTA 6 releases.
