Hockey has been one of the most prominent games in the Olympic Games since the modern inception of the Games in the last 1800s. India too has had a wonderful run with hockey bringing the lion’s share of the Gold Medals over the years. With startling performances like the 1936 Berlin Games and the 1980 Moscow Games, India has firmly cemented their place in the annals of hockey history. Stalwarts like Dhyan Chand and Mohammed Shahid have forever forged their names in the folklore of hockey.
