Abhishek Sharma [Player of the Match, Sunrisers Hyderabad]: We (him and Digvesh Rathi) spoke after the game, its all well now. If I was batting first, I would have had other plans, but then when you're chasing 200, you need to be a bit cautious. If you ask any international player, they will tell you that you need to win the powerplay. I wanted to express myself and if I do well, the team will eventually do well. It gives you an extra edge that you're representing your country, had the same plan and if it is the first ball, I will knock it around

Pat Cummins [captain, Sunrisers Hyderabad]: Probably a few more than we like. We rolled it back, at one stage it looked like 220 but once we had 205 on board we felt like we could chase it. He (Eshan Malinga) worked with coaches through, has worked really well. At times when we are at our best, it doesn't look like we are taking risks. They looked in fine touch today and probably felt like could have done this throughout the season. A lot of confidence heading into the next year, some more lessons and maybe one or two other guys get an opportunity

Daniel Vettori (Sunrisers Hyderabad coach): Yeah particularly after the extended break it's difficult to be back. It was a fantastic effort to pull off this chase. We are used to Abhishek Sharma, the big challenge for opposition is when he starts to target the spinners. Normally he takes it on and is very successful. Yeah it's the development of players, certain players step up at certain times. It has been a tough season for us. Kamindu and Eshan the two Sri Lankan boys were exceptional tonight. Well it's all about conditions. Some pitches allow you to take that aggressive approach. We understand teams will come hard at us. Everyone does it in a different way. Abhishek and Head always goes out there and try to play positively and the rest of the batters have their roles. Sometimes the wickets aren't there to play your natural game, I don't want to change the style of play but adapt according to the situation. Travis is in quarantine.

Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants captain): See it could have been one of our best seasons. We had lots of gaps because of injuries but as a team we thought of taking about that but as a team it kept getting difficult for us. The way we planned in the auction, the story would have been different had we got the same bowlers. This is how the game goes. We have been discussing on the positives rather than the negatives. We have enough firepower in the batting that is our main positive The bowlers were patchy a bit, tried to get the best out of the bowlers available. We knew we were 10 runs short. We have been playing good cricket but in patches but we haven't been able to close out games. See the bowler Rathi has come up for us nicely. The way he bowled was great to see. He is one of our positives but you have to keep working hard each season.

A historical chase, Sunrisers Hyderabad become the only team to chase down 200 at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium. This has been a quality knock from all the SRH batters involved, who continue to add wins in their strike to end on a high. Lucknow Super Giants losing this contest means that they are out of the race of the playoffs.

Abhishek Sharma and Atharva Taide opened the innings for SRH, but the latter was dismissed cheaply on debut. Abhishek continued, scoring at a rate of knots and did a fine job of ending parts of a chase early. SRH raced to 120 at 10 overs, but lost Abhishek then. From there on, Kamindu Mendis and Heinrich Klaasen did a fine job of anchoring things while Aniket Verma and Nitish Kumar Reddy ended the chase quickly.

As for LSG, the bowling wasn't quite up to the mark and they ended up conceding more than what they scored. Only Digvesh Rathi picked up two wickets but he too was a tad bit expensive. Will O'Rourke, Shardul Thakur also picked up a wicket each while Ravi Bishnoi's 26 run probably changed the game in SHR's favour.

And that is that! A comprehensive win for the Sunrisers and it confirms Lucknow Super Giants' elimination from the playoff race! We're down to just two teams now - Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals - for the final playoff berth!
