Team Oval has lived up to their monicker "Invincibles". A hat-trick of titles in this fast, ever-changing format of slam-bang cricket is no mean feat. It is an achievement that some of these players might be telling their grandchildren about with great pride one day.

9:04 PM local time, 1:34 AM IST | Billings joins his mates, who have already taken their spots on the stage where the glittering trophy is kept on a podium. Just as we type this, he lifts it up in the air and the pyro works go off. The celebrations are rhapsodic and melodious — they hum a team song and take turns in raising the silverware.
Sam Billings (Oval Invincibles captain): "Three in a row! We've kept the core group together and this has been the most successful year! A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and we cannot thank the support staff enough! Nathan Sowter has been with us for some time and his hard work has paid off! Everyone has some point has put his hand up and that's what good teams do! It has to take a whole group together to get this kind of a win! I've learnt a huge amount with Tom Moody, he has done it as a coach all around the world, the way he keeps us all on our toes and keeps helping us get better, it's huge thanks to him!"
Nathan Sowter is the Player of the Final. He says, "To play in this incredible team is great. They gave me the chance tonight and I am happy to have delivered. The last few games, I have been given the reigns of the bowling attack. I am happy to have done well. Every one in this team has come off from far and wide. It has been about being ourselves."
Jordan Cox (Player of the Tournament): "To get the three-peat, it has been superb! Just superb! To be able to contribute and have some fun is tremendous for me! Someone like Donovan Ferreira has played only a handful of balls, and look at the impact he has had! I try my hardest to try and bang down that door for England, but let's see if it comes! But, great team effort here again!"
Jordan Cox is the Player of the Tournament.
Time to hear from the winning team's players now! First up, Sam Curran and Tom Curran: "(Tom) It is a tough tournament, but we have had a complete performance! We don't know how the team will look like next year, but this time, we were special again! (Sam) Phenomenal effort! It was amazing! I was a bit nervous, but we still, we showed our class! To win three tournaments in a row, we need to celebrate it!"
8:49 PM local time, 1:19 AM IST | Oval Invincibles win the final by 26 runs and complete a HAT-TRICK OF THE MEN'S HUNDRED TITLES.
Will Jacks 72 (41) | Nathan Sowter 3/25 Marcus Stoinis 64 (38) & 2/40
A few eyebrows were raised when after winning the toss, Sam Billings announced that they were going bat first. After all, his team had great success chasing through the league stage. Then, a few more were raised when Invincibles only managed 25 runs off the final 20 balls. However, such was the vigour and authority put on display in between, that they still managed to notch-up the joint highest total in a final of The Men's Hundred.
Will Jacks' dominant innings was the main act, and Stoinis' no-ball that he got caught off on 29, turned out to be his ascension. Jordan Cox played a sparkling support knock of 40 (28) too.
Rockets were marred by injuries. They lost Lockie Ferguson and Samuel Cook to injuries before the start of the match and George Linde during the first innings after the left arm spinner copped a blow on his hand. However, Dillon Pennington and Ben Sanderson stepped up, returning an impressive 1/39 off their combined 30 balls.
Heading into the match, batting was arguably David Willey's side's stronger suit. However, that is exactly what left the fans disappointed. Openers Joe Root and Tom Banton stayed together at the crease for 32 balls, but could only amass runs at a little over one per ball. With pressure mounting, they decided to target Nathan Sowter. But the leg-spinner came prepared. Some clever bowling from him, saw 3 wickets fall in 7 balls, post which Rockets never really recovered.
Marcus Stoinis did blast 64 runs in 38 balls, but he was always fighting a lost battle. Special mention to the two other Australians — Adam Zampa and Jason Behrendorff, who played their part to perfection and helped set up this win for Oval Invincibles.

The ball thuds into the pads, the Invincibles go up in appeal and the umpire raises the dreaded finger! The celebrations can begin!
