Minecraft servers are built by the community and are often not affiliated with Mojang, the official creators of Minecraft. Minecraft servers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, some have unique minigames to complete with friends inside vast custom-crafted worlds, others may focus on a more social aspect, in which you can chat, relax, and make new friends. There are several Minecraft server types, characterized by the specific rules, gameplay and various other design choices incorporated.
No two Minecraft Servers are the same, and sometimes it can be overwhelming to find the perfect server to play on. Some servers are more PVP-oriented, some have Survival, Creative and Adventure mode features, some have an integrated economy, and some of them have built-in minigames.
For the most part, Minecraft Servers are completely free to join and play. This being said however, many Java Servers do offer optional add ons which players can purchase. This includes things like extra items, chat-tags, hats, and other cosmetic items in which you can pay for if desired.
On the Bedrock Edition specifically, addons for servers come in the form of “Minecraft Coins”. This will allow you to access special activities and other cosmetic features. It’s no mystery why Hypixel is so popular, having pioneered and innovated some of the most popular multiplayer game modes such as “Bedwars”, which draws in tens of thousands of players alone. You can always trust Hypixel to provide hours of free entertainment, with constant updates, new content, and brilliant community interaction. Many servers can and have tried to copy Hypixel, but you can never truly beat the original and best.

Mineplex was once the largest Minecraft server of all time, dominating the multiplayer scene for several years in a row. Although no longer in it’s prime years, Mineplex still offers players with a great variety of minigames, and remains filled at all times of the day with thousands of players.

Currently, Purple Prison is the best server for Minecraft prison, with thousands of players every day. The server features intense PvP, great mining, parkour events, a well-balanced economy, and a discord community of over 40,000 members for you to make new friends in.

Although this server isn’t finished yet, it is worth exploring. The expansive map is based on the cinematic version of Middle-earth created by Peter Jackson. You can explore the beautifully constructed map or play in a PvP arena or can also help finish building the world as long as you follow the rules.
There is also a thriving online community that has come together to work on the massive project. The rules for this server are simple but are very strictly enforced. It also has a built-in tour guide that will give the players plenty of Lord of the Rings lore as they explore the world.

PvP and PvE combine in this server-wide recreation of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Fight, craft, and survive in the enormous map, fighting off walkers and other players alike. The Mining Dead is a great opportunity to take in all the famous sights as you’re scrambling to find weapons, ammo, and generally anything to help fend off the undead. Similar to most of the servers before, this too derives inspiration from a popular comic the Walking Dead. The Mining Dead also features key locations from the TV series like The Prison, Woodbury, and Alexandria.

Lunar Network is currently the most popular Minecraft PvP practice server, with hundreds of other players online at all times of the day. What makes the server so great is the fact it comes with it’s own custom client, which players can install to maximize their frames, count their CPS (clicks per second) and improve their general PvP experience.

2b2t is, without a doubt, the current king of Minecraft anarchy servers. Thanks to the massive YouTuber attention in recent times, the server has recently been pulling in player counts of over 1,000 people, leading to huge queue times of several hours just to even join.
The server has a very long and controversial history spanning over 10 years now and has undeniably seen some rough times. In recent times, however, the server is at the strongest point it’s ever been in terms of popularity and community spirit.

To enter a server from Minecraft, first find a server that you like, like the one mentioned below, and take the IP address. Run the game, click on 'Server Add' and then on 'Multiplayer.' Then, type in the server's IP address and name.
Before you go back to your domain list and select your preferred server, please make sure that you press 'done.' Hit the 'enter server' icon, and you will find yourself in a new, breathtaking block environment.

A. Mineplex is not dead nor dying, because if it'd be dead, no one would be playing on the server. Yes, the player base has gotten smaller, as most Java gamers are switching over to bedrock. Yes, there are bugs. Mineplex relies on both QA/QAT and the community to report bugs when they find them, it's a team effort. The staff are constantly working to improve as a server and community. They may not have as many players as they once did, but they still get thousands combined from all of our versions.

A. No. The Hypixel server will remain active and supported - the same as it is now. The team working on Hytale broke off from the Hypixel server team over two years ago. Current Hypixel server players shouldn’t notice any change in the rate of updates, new content, or quality of support.
