Scuffles and clashes aren't uncommon in combat sports, and Conor McGregor is often in the eye of the storm. Fighters indulging in tussles or fisticuffs with non-fighters, on the other hand, is something that hardly ever happens.

McGregor, however, has managed to find himself on the list of fighters that have had run-ins with non-fighters. The Irishman has famously had issues controlling his temper.

Often seen going off the rails in public, there have been numerous instances where 'The Notorious' one has found himself on the wrong side of a situation.

One such instance was the infamous altercation that took place after UFC 229. Moments removed from McGregor's loss at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov, both camps indulged in a massive brawl.

Their actions resulted in a series of hefty bans and fines being slapped on both McGregor and Nurmagomedov. The Crumlin native was fined $50,000 in addition to a suspension term of six months. 'The Dagestani phenom', on the other hand, received a whopping $500,000 fine on the back of a nine month suspension.

While this was not the first or last instance that saw the Irish southpaw indulging in a tussle with fighters. In this article, we take a look at some of the times when non-fighters found themselves on the receiving end of McGregor's wrath.


#5 Conor McGregor nukes Stephen Espinoza

This instance takes us back to 2017 ahead of Conor McGregor's big-money fight against Floyd Mayweather. The cause of the altercation can be traced to faulty technology.

During their press conference in Los Angeles, both McGregor and Mayweather took turns addressing the media from the podium. Mayweather maintained a certain degree of decorum while McGregor said his piece.

However, when it was Mayweather's turn to address the media, McGregor refused to pipe down, interrupting his speech with taunts and quips. The Showtime executives were eventually forced to turn off his microphone.

In response to this 'sabotage', Conor McGregor turned to Stephen Espinoza, and went on to flame the Showtime head honcho, calling him a "f***ing weasel". However, Esponiza subsequently revealed that Showtime was not responsible for cutting any mics during the press meet.

#4 Conor McGregor jumps into the cage and tussles with referee Marc Goddard

Shortly after his teammate Charlie Ward recorded a KO win over John Redmond at Bellator 187, Conor McGregor leaped over the cage to celebrate with his comrade.

A moment of jubilation soon turned sour after the referee in charge, Marc Goddard, blocked McGregor's path to remind him of his conduct. However, the SBG Ireland product didn't take kindly to this interruption, resulting in a tussle with Goddard.

Once Conor McGregor was escorted out of the cage, he tried to make his way back but was stopped by another official. This time, he refused to hold back and took a swipe at the official.


#3 Conor McGregor punches an elderly man in a bar

Conor McGregor found his way to the headlines after he decked an elderly man in a pub in Dublin called The Marble Arch. The conflict took place after Conor McGregor made his way into the pub and offered to buy a round of Proper Twelve whiskey for everyone.

However, the victim, Desmond Keogh, refused to indulge Conor, infuriating the former two-division UFC champion. McGregor subsequently went on to plead guilty to assault and was forced to pay a €1,000 fine. What's more, he went on to acquire that pub, naming it 'The Black Forge Inn' and spent a fortune remodeling it from scratch.

However, the part that caught the fans' attention was the fact that McGregor responded to a tweet posted by the journalist, who broke the story of him punching Keogh and banned both of them from the bar.

#2 Conor McGregor gets into trouble with the Kinahan Cartel

Conor McGregor may have indulged in a number of fights in his day. However, it was this instance that might have had the biggest of consequences. Reports suggested that he had gotten into it with a man in his 50s who had alleged links to the Kinahan Cartel in Dublin.

The man that McGregor punched was the father of a convicted drug dealer, Graham 'The Wig' Whelan. However, he seemed unfazed by all that was happening.

Shortly after initial reports that referred to Conor McGregor as 'the celebrity' started emerging, he responded with the following post:

A subsequent story alleged that McGregor had earned himself a €900,000 bounty. He was being coerced to pay the gang protection money or risk facing consequences for his actions. However, his father maintained that they had nothing to worry about.


#1 Conor McGregor gets into a heated argument with Machine Gun Kelly

One of Conor McGregor's most recent antics, the MTV VMAs saw the Irishman and rapper Machine Gun Kelly indulge in a heated exchange, moments away from a physical brawl.

Multiple videos displayed McGregor lunging at the rapper, who was being protected and held off by a security detail, and his significant other, Megan Fox.

Although the security managed to prevent chaos, McGregor was seen hurling a drink towards their direction as they walked away.

Initial reports about the incident suggested he was hoping to snap a picture with the rapper, who refused to oblige. However, these reports were subsequently dismissed as false by McGregor's camp.
