Destiny 2 Episode Revenant is just a few weeks away from hitting the official servers. Ever since the implementation of the episodic structure in the game, Bungie has had to adjust several aspects concerning player feedback. While some changes were welcomed by the community, others went against their wishes, leading many to have mixed feelings surrounding the current sandbox.
With the launch of a new episode, Bungie scheduled multiple changes to some of the core features in the shooter, alongside new features regarding the episodic story or gear pieces.
This article lists five major updates coming to the second episode of Destiny 2.
Exotic Class Item attunement and 4 other updates scheduled for Destiny 2 Episode Revenant
1) Potion crafting
Potion crafting will be a primary feature of the seasonal loop of Destiny 2 Episode Revenant. This feature will be more in line with the loot system of the episode, where each potion will be tied to the game's sandbox. Some potions are scheduled to affect the rewards from each activity, while others will affect how a player performs in activities.
The primary vendor for the potion crafting has been revealed to be Eido. Rewards will include Scorn and Eliksni-themed armor pieces, alongside vampiric-themed weapons.
2) New Dungeon and reward
The first Dungeon in The Final Shape year will be released in Episode Revenant, three days after the episode's launch. Hence, the official release date for the Dungeon has been revealed to be October 11, 2024, on the weekly reset time of 10 am PT.
Additionally, this Destiny 2 Dungeon will become the first of its kind to be released alongside a contest modifier. With no Raids scheduled for the next few months, players will have some challenging endgame in the next Episode in the form of a Dungeon. Typically, the weekly Pinnacle farm will shift from Warlord's Ruin.
Note that the upcoming Dungeon will not be free and will require a Dungeon Key to enter. The associated Exotic weapon in the Dungeon will be the Icebreaker Sniper Rifle, a fan-favorite from Destiny 1.
3) Exotic Class Item attunement
Exotic Class Item attunement is perhaps the most important feature coming to Destiny 2 Episode Revenant. Players can attune to one perk for any one of the columns available in their Class armor piece.
For example, a player can attune any one perk from either Column I or II. Based on the attuned perk, the next drop of the Class Item will have that perk available, alongside a randomized perk on the other column. This way, players can further narrow down the god roll they want on their Exotic Class Items.
This attunement will work on every Class Item drop, be it from Lost Sector, Dual Destiny, Open World Chests, or Xur.
4) Double Pinnacle rotator
With the release of a new Dungeon in Episode Revenant, Destiny 2 will have eight Dungeons and Raids in the rotator, making it tough for players to access all within one season. Hence, Bungie will allow two Raids and two Dungeons to rotate each week, allowing players to farm increased Pinnacle gear pieces, alongside increased Adept weapons, Artifice armor pieces, and Exotics.
On October 8, 2024, the launch day of Revenant, the Last Wish and Vow of the Disciple Raids will be featured, alongside Shattered Throne and Duality Dungeons.
5) Split Ritual Pathfinder
Ritual Pathfinder cards will be separated once Episode Revenant launches. This means that each game mode — Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit — will have objectives based on their respective activities.
The Destiny 2 Pathfinder reward system will remain the same. It will grant Prime Engram with the first three completions on any Ritual game mode, alongside a handful of EXP and Enhancement Prism with the next seven completions. It will also grant Enhancement Core and Bright Dust with all completions that follow.
