Destiny 2 Season 23 is shaping up to be the starting point of various sandbox changes, beginning with Legendary archetypes and Exotics. In S23, players will witness a drastic shift in the meta, as Bungie has announced buffs across multiple weapons in this game. The company has uploaded a Dev Insight article to confirm these upcoming changes, which is available on Bungie's official website.

The developers have offered a list with 10 changes for Season 23 that includes Revision Zero, Osteo Striga, Thorn, Class-specific Glaives, Salvation's Grip, and more. Each seasonal entry affects the sandbox experience in multiple ways, and players will have to adjust their gameplay accordingly and come up with the best gear pieces for this game's toughest activities.

Bungie confirms Exotic weapon buffs for Destiny 2 Season 23

The following changes fall more in line with Destiny 2's PvE content, as Bungie takes into account a weapon's role, ammunition type, usage, and DPS. Due to this, aside from Legendary archetypes, there are major Exotic buffs scheduled for release as well.

I) Vex Mythoclast:

Vex Mythoclast came under a lot of fire from the community amid Bungie's nerf to this weapon. While this studio increased the weapon's overall Range against enemies, its fire rate was reduced, angering a lot of players in the community. Although there won't be any changes to this weapon for PvP anytime soon, gamers might be somewhat happier seeing the tweaks in line for PvE.

  • Increased damage against red-bar enemies by 10%.
  • Increased damage against bosses by 25%.
  • Increased damage against Champions by 100% in Linear Fusion Rifle mode.

II) Revision Zero:

Revision Zero will be more exclusive to slaying Champions inside endgame activities due to one change to this weapon — Damage against Champions increased by 100%.

III) Thorn

A fan favorite, Thorn, will be receiving its much-awaited Catalyst in Season 23. While picking up Remnants will overflow the magazine, its Catalyst will grant increased Range and Stability to the weapon, with the added benefit of more Range and Handling upon Remnant pickups.

IV) Class Glaive (Warlock):

To make the weapon more synergized with Solar 3.0, here is a list of changes made on the Edge of Intent Glaive:

  • Changed effect of healing turret to grant cure and restoration.
  • Increased AoE to 8 meters.
  • Increased magazine size from 4 to 5.

V) Class Glaive (Titan):

Bungie's plan for this weapon is to make its Void bubble more effective in endgame activities. Due to this, the studio will be adding in these changes:

  • Passing through the bubble will grant increased Reload Speed and Handling.
  • Reduced health from 8,000 to 2,400 to make up for the other added benefits.

VI) Class Glaive (Hunter):

Similar to the Warlock Glaive, the Edge of Concurrence for Hunters will synergize more with the Arc 3.0 subclass. Here are the changes:

  • Arc seeker will jolt targets.
  • Reduced damage of the Arc seeker to make up for free ammunition.

VII) Osteo Striga:

Osteo Striga has been deemed "too powerful" by Bungie in add-clearing standards, as its poison scaling was outperforming other weapons in the department. Hence, the following changes will be applied:

  • Removed the damage bonus scalar affecting the poison damage, bringing Osteo Striga poison down to match standard Necrotic Grip poison. The weapon will still deal 40% more damage against trash mobs.

VIII) Salvation's Grip and Winterbite

A time limit will be placed between detonating Salvation's Grip crystals, which previously led to players getting kicked to Orbit. For the Winterbite, gamers will see increased damage on projectile detonation by 25%, alongside reduced self-damage from the blast radius.
