Dune Awakening has a few ways to ensure you stay hydrated, and arguably, one of the most efficient ways to keep plenty of water in the base and your body is by harvesting Dew. With some Literjons and Cisterns, you can easily have enough water to make Steel Ingots or simply have enough to drink during the brutal daylight hours of Arrakis.
It will take some time for you to really start reaping the benefits of the flowers of Arrakis, but it will be worth it. Here’s what tools you need to harvest Dew in Dune Awakening, and the best time to do it.
How and when to harvest Dew in Dune Awakening
To harvest Dew in Dune Awakening, you need a Dew Reaper and at least one item that stores water, such as a Literjon. It will also help to have at least one Cistern in your base, but more can’t hurt. Your first Dew Reaper is the Dew Reaper Mk2, which requires you to research it and then craft it at a Fabricator using 10x Iron Ingots, 7x EMF Generators, and 4x Silicone Blocks.

However, you can also occasionally find them on the bodies of enemies or in certain containers in Outposts. I found my Dew Reaper and didn’t have to craft it. If you don’t have any Silicone Blocks, you make these out of Flour Sand. Once you have some water containers and a Dew Reaper, equip it and wait until nightfall.
You can only harvest Dew at night, and frankly, the later in the evening, the better. The best time to harvest Dew in Dune Awakening is just before dawn. You’ll see a cool, blue glow hovering over the flowers. If you need another hint, press “T” on your keyboard to check the time. If the arrow is pointing in the blue portion of the clockface, it’s the perfect time.

Just go to a nearby flowerbed, hold down the activation button, and walk around in the flowers to gather the dew. The game will tell you if it’s a good time to do it or not, as you’re farming the liquid. As you do this, the dew will fill up your Literjons automatically. If you build your base near one of these flowerbeds, life will be so much easier.
You can then transfer that liquid into a Cistern, and with a few Cisterns in your base, surviving the heat of Vermillius Gap will be a breeze. You can do this every evening, but that’s the only time dew is available to harvest in Dune Awakening.
