Dexter Lumis

Samuel Shaw a.k.a. Dexter Lumis is an American professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) under the NXT brand. Samuel was born on January 17, 1984 in Jacksonville, Florida. The highlight of his career came during his six-year tenure with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) which has been rebranded as Impact Wrestling. He was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) between 2010-2017 which is Impact Wrestling's developmental brand. Samuel has been trained by Mr. Curtis Hughes. Dexter Lumis's NXT debut on March 16 resulted in a loss to Fabian Aichner.

Early career (2007–2010)

Samuel received his pro-wrestling training with Curtis Hughes at the WWA4 Wrestling School. He made his professional wrestling debut on September 21, 2007 at World League Wrestling. In his debut match he teamed up with Tookie Tucker and defeated Marco Cordova and Otis Idol in a tag team match. He then competed in several wrestling promotions such as Full Impact Pro, Victory Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Extreme.

Independent circuit (2010–2012)

Between 2010 and 2012 Shaw wrestled in Independent circuits such as Vintage Wrestling where he defeated Glacier to become the first Vintage Heavyweight Champion which he won for a total of three times. He also participated in the King Of The State tournament. He also wrestled for Florida Underground Wrestling.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

Shaw's made his first Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) appearance on August 8, 2010 in Hardcore Justice as Lupus. After three years at TNA he was assigned to TNA's developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Ohio Valley Wrestling (2012–2013)

Shaw made his debut at OVW on October 13, 2012. He teamed up with Alex Silva and went on to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship twice.

Return to the independent circuit (2015–2019)

Shaw returned to the Independent circuit and debuted for Vintage Wrestling in May, 2015, and defeated Nick Fame. He then debuted for Full Throttle Pro Wrestling in 2016. In 2017, he made his Tried N True/Global Force Wrestling debut and defeated Crimson to become the inaugural TNT Champion. Among other independent promotion appearances by Shaw are at National Wrestling Alliance's NWA 70th Anniversary Show and Championship Wrestling From Hollywood.

WWE (2019–present)

WWE announced that Shaw had signed a contract with WWE and that he would report to the WWE Performance Center, on February 11, 2019. Shaw debuted under his real name on March 16, which resulted in a loss to Fabian Aichner. He then changed to his ring name, Dexter Lumis in June.

When is Dexter Lumis coming back?

On the July 1 episode of NXT: Great American Bash, Lumis faced Roderick Strong in NXT's first ever strap match. Lumis defeated Strong but both the wrestlers suffered from multiple body contusions which was announced by WWE. But both the wrestlers are currently cleared to compete and would be seen in the ring as their respective storyline progresses.

When will Dexter Lumis be on NXT?

Dexter Lumis signed a contract with WWE on February 11, 2019 and made his NXT debut on March 16,2019.
