Pokemon Legends: Arceus is filled to the brim with powerful legendaries, but Cresselia might be the most threatening of them all

Cresselia has 120 base HP, 120 Defense and 130 Special Defense. Is there anything else that needs to be said about how unique this Pokemon is? With those defenses, unless the opponent uses a Shadow Force from a Choice Band Giratina, they aren’t taking Cresselia down.

With an efficient moveset, Cresselia can carry players through the endgame of Legends: Arceus.

Which moves should this incredibly defensive Pokemon be using?

With stats like that, it’s almost as if Cresselia was made for Calm Mind boosting. Luckily enough, it also has the right coverage and healing to make this moveset very potent.

  • Calm Mind
  • Lunar Blessing
  • Psychic
  • Moonblast

Thanks to Cresselia’s colossal defenses, it is just about guaranteed it can set up a Calm Mind in front of any threat: even Gengar. As Calm Mind boosts Cresselia’s Special Defense, it will start taking less and less damage from Shadow Ball and eventually win out despite the bad type matchup.

Many fans thought Cresselia was already incredibly strong beforehand, but Game Freak was kind enough to make the most broken move in the game. Imagine taking Recover, Refresh and Double Team, and putting it into one move: that’s Lunar Blessing.

After a couple of Calm Minds, Cresselia can use Lunar Blessing to shake off any damage or status that it takes. It will also get the “shrouded” status that other Pokemon can use in the game (e.g., Hisuian Goodra’s Shelter), so the next move will be less likely to connect.

Once Cresselia has had its stats buffed, its status removed, and its evasion buffed, it’s time for trainers to click Psychic and start winning the game. This move should do enough damage to eliminate any threat.

The only Pokemon Psychic that doesn’t account for is Dark-types since they are immune to Psychic moves. This is why Moonblast is 100% necessary for Cresselia. With this move, Calm Mind and its already sky-high defenses, Cresselia can beat Drapion, Umbreon, and just about any other Dark-type in the game.
