How to Train Your Dragon has quickly become a highly sought-after Roblox experience, thanks to the popularity of the animated movie franchise and its new live-action adaptation (both of the same name as the Roblox game). The title gives players free rein to fly around in the sky on their dragons and fight different enemies while bonding with their pet.

While exploring the map, you will find various islands. Each one has specific missions that you must complete to get rewards. This article offers a brief guide on clearing the first island in the game.

While there are no restrictions on approaching and exploring different islands in the game, it is better to start the main quest before heading over to the first island. However, we highly recommend you level up your dragon, skills, and Dragon Rider Level before doing so. This will be helpful since the tasks involve destroying various targets to complete the quest.

Where is Island 1?

The first island is around 400 m from the main island in How to Train Your Dragon, where you can find Hiccup (NPC) and various quests. Simply look for the Gruesome Gronckle tag above the island. Note that you only require Dragon Rider Level 1 to explore and complete quests on this island.

How to begin the Island 1 quest in How to Train Your Dragon

To begin the first island's quest, simply head over to the Hiccup NPC on the main island and talk to him. He will first ask you to destroy all the targets on the main island and return to him. You can do so by flying around and looking for objects with the target mark and a small red arrow above them.

Once done, return to Hiccup, and he will ask you to visit Island 1 and rescue the Gruesome Gronckle (a dragon). Now, hop onto your own dragon and fly straight towards the island. First, you must destroy all the targets. Note that these shoot projectiles that will deal damage to your dragon if hit. Simply watch out for them and move aside to dodge them.

To destroy the targets, go near them and press F on your keyboard to shoot a Fireball. You can also press the right-mouse button to use Firebreath to deal damage. Simply fly around the island, destroy all the targets, and then look for the yellow exclamation mark towards the centre of the island.

Dismount from your dragon and go near the cage. Now, press E on your keyboard to open the Gruesome Gronckle's cage and release it. This dragon will now be available for use. Afterward, head back to the main island and talk to Hiccup to complete the quest and receive new instructions.
