Born on February 14, 2002, in Boca Raton, Florida, Caroline Marks is an American professional surfing champion who was the 2023 WSL Women's World Tour Champion and the youngest female to compete in the World Surf League Event. Marks is also the youngest surfer to qualify for the World's Championship Tour.

She has secured her spot to represent the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympics Games and previously in 2019 was the youngest surfer to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games. Marks also won the Rookie of the Year Award by ending seventh in the 2018 Season's World Surf League.

Marks was born to Darren Marks and Sara Marks. They now reside in San Clemente, California. Third of six children, Marks grew up in Melbourne Beach, Florida with her four brothers (Zach Marks, Luke Marks, Jack Marks, and Dawson Marks) and younger sisters (Victoria Marks). The houses where she had spent her childhood had a big backyard with things like a motorbike track, halfpipe, and surf break across the street. She was only 4 when her love for surfing started but it took her four more years to begin surfing competitively. Marks and her siblings were very supportive of each other and encouraged each other in their passions.

This support was spotted when her older brother Zach, who was then 12, created a social media site named Gram Social for Kids, and Marks helped him create images and characters for the site. Even today, She continues to post on the site as herself and update the users on her daily adventures and accomplishments. Similarly, all her family members support her and have been constantly present in all her competitions cheering for her.

Caroline Marks High School Career

Caroline Marks attended Lighthouse Christian Academy in West Melbourne, Florida. As Marks has already entered a professional surfing career during her college career, information regarding her college career is not widely available. But during her college career, she has achieved a lot in the world professional surfing career community. During her first year in 2018, Marks had her first year on tour where she finished third place in three events out of 10 and was named the rookie of the year. She finished the season ranking 7th in World Surfing.

Caroline Marks upset the seven-time world champion, Stephanie Gilmore, at the first event of the WSL Championship tour at the Australian's home break of Duranbah, New South Wales in the quarter-finals of the Boost Mobile Pro Gold Coast in April of 2019. She did not stop there, she then continued her onslaught through the semis beating Malia Manuel from Kauai. Marks then went on to defeat three-time world champion Carissa Moore from Oahu to claim the first WSL event title.

Team USA's Best of April Award which recognizes the outstanding achievement of prospective Team USA Olympic athletes was received by Caroline Marks in December 2019 making her the first surfer to achieve it. By finishing second to Carissa Moore on the WSL Championship tour Marks secured her spot for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo along with Moore.

Caroline was the youngest surfer to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics which was postponed to July and to August 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She tested positive during Covid 19 when the World Surf League Competition was knocking at the door which was to be held in Australia in early 2021. But Later found out to false positive which removed her fear of not being able to participate.
