A veteran rower, he started his career at Brewster Academy and then rowed for the Marist Red Foxes men’s team at Marist College and the Washington Huskies at the University of Washington before making his professional debut.

Chris Carlson is most notable for participating at the Under-23 World Championships in Poznan in 2018. There, he set a world’s best time of 5:22:48 in the men’s eight event. He competed at the Under-23 World Championships in Plovdiv in 2017 and Sarasota in 2019. Carlson is also a two-time participant in the World Championships in 2022, where he ranked fourth in the men’s eight event, and in 2023, when he ranked sixth in the men’s eight event.
