Hailing from Bothell, Washington, Evan Olson is an American rower who realized his love for the sport midway through his junior year in high school after getting inspired by the book ‘The Boys in the Boat.’ He had not watched rowing before he read the book and was amazed by the sport upon finishing reading.

Olson started rowing for the Everett Rowing Association and after around six months, he shifted to Pocock Rowing Center to complete his high school career at Bothell High School. He began this journey and competed in various prestigious competitions.

The 27-year-old competed in the 2017 World Rowing Under-23 Championships in Bulgaria, where he won a bronze medal with the US men’s coxed four. Along with this, he was invited to the 2019 US Rowing Under-23 National Team Selection Camp.

Now, the athlete is ready to represent his country at the Paris Olympics 2024. He qualified for the event by claiming fifth place at the 2023 World Rowing Championships and securing first place in the men’s eight at the 2024 World Rowing Final Olympic Qualification Regatta. He and his team will be in action at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 29, where they will be competing in the heats. The men’s eight repechage and the men’s eight final are on August 1 and 3, respectively.
