Sagen Maddalena is an American sharpshooter who represented the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Moreover, she is a sergeant in the United States Army and also serves as an instructor of the Army Marksmanship Unit.

Maddelana was introduced to shooting at the age of 13 through her local 4-H club, where she learned about gun safety and shooting etiquettes. Her grandfather was her early mentor who recognized her potential and instilled in her the importance of patience, a crucial quality in the shooting sport. She started with high-power rifles and later became a top contender in the air rifle category.

Moving forward, Maddelana attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she was coached under Dan Jordan. Additionally, she went on to become an eight time All American during the period between 2014-2018 in the NCAA Championships. In 2019, Maddelana enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) as a shooter and instructor. This role provided her an opportunity to represent her homeland and pursue her competitive career in shooting. Furthermore, she represented the United States at the World Championships and Pan American Games, winning gold medals at both the events.
