Winning a Championship is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s career. Being in the spotlight, however, tends to take a toll on relationships, especially those of famous WWE stars with people trying to interfere and comment on every small thing. Some WWE superstars have done an excellent job of keeping their relationships away from the spotlight by even marrying regular people like you and me.

Most WWE superstars, on the way to their fame and success, have found love in the wrestling industry itself or that of modeling and acting. Such stars include Daniel Bryan, Aleister Black and Roderick Strong who tied the knots with wrestlers like Brie Bella, Zelina Vega, and Marina Shafir. Currently, the relationship between Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch is one of the hottest topics among the WWE Universe.

To keep a low profile on their relationships and avoid dramas associated with marriages in the spotlight many wrestlers decided to marry regular people and this helps them leave a comfortable life that is not always centered around the camera. Take a look at some current and past wrestlers who married non-wrestlers and not-so-famous people to keep their private lives away from the eyes of the media.

#1 Jason Jordan

Jason Jordan’s career in WWE saw more ups and downs than a kid on a rollercoaster. However, he will be remembered as a successful wrestler even if he never takes the ring again.

When Jordan was placed in a weird storyline in which Kurt Angle was being revealed as his biological father in the WWE, he was trying to actually start a family in his real life. Jordan tied the knot with April Elizabeth in 2017. His wedding coincided with his SmackDown Tag Team Championship victory.

April’s Twitter account states that she is an Owner/Stylist at NE Styles Florida, and she retweets almost everything on Twitter that says anything positive about her husband. Even though Jordan has suffered from an injury that leaves us in doubt about his future in wrestling, what we do know is that his wife will remain as a supportive figure on his side no matter what curveballs life throws at them.

#2 Batista

The Animal, Batista, has been known for his inhumane strength inside the ring. He was a Powerhouse who won several individual and tag team Championships during his career and transformed into a silver screen star successfully.

As the powerhouse of the faction Evolution, Batista was a force to be reckoned with the uncanny ability to pull off any character that was required with ease. This helped him start a career in Hollywood which slowly paid dividends later on.

Batista has been married thrice, the first two both lasted around 8 years before they ended.

In 1990, Batista married his first wife, Glenda, but things didn’t work out between the couple after they had two daughters together and they divorced in 1998.

Months after his divorce, Batista married for the second time the same year to Angie, but that marriage couldn’t pass the eight-year mark either.

In October 2015, The Animal married for the third time to a woman named Sarah Jade. Jade is a competitive pole dancer but is nowhere as popular as Batista. While many believed that the third time would be a charm, Batista and Sarah decided to separate early last year.

#3 Curt Hawkins

Hawkins has a lot more to thank for!
Hawkins has a lot more to thank for!

While Curt Hawkins may not sound to you as one of the most successful wrestlers in the WWE, you may be surprised to know that his personal life away from the cameras has been quite eventful. The lack of oomph in Curt’s in-ring performance can be judged simply by the fact that he has lost over 500 matches in his WWE career.

Fans are divided about how they feel about Curt Hawkins, as he is a two-time RAW Tag Team Champion. Some have attacked him for taking hefty paychecks home after putting on a terrible performance whilst others have defended him by saying he is just doing what jobbers are supposed to do.

Even though Curt’s WWE career doesn’t seem to be too balanced, what he knows for sure is that he will always have his wife Lizzie Karcher to go home to. He has been successful in keeping his personal life and relationship private and very less is known about Lizzie. What we do know is that the two tied the knot on October 9, 2015, after being in a relationship for a long time. The two have a beautiful daughter together named McKenzie who was born on June 14, 2017.

#4 Kevin Owens

Kevin has been confident enough to not give in to the bashing he received from online critics as well as other fans of WWE for his weight and physique which they termed unsuitable for wrestling. He proved all of them wrong by becoming a one-time Universal Champion, silencing the critique on his looks.

Kevin Owens’s career took a start off from NXT and gained a lot of attention after he managed to win the NXT Championship. He’s been in some top-level feuds and has won a great number of championships in his career.

Even though his rise to fame hasn’t come easy, Owens hasn’t let his current status get to his head and he maintains the role of a dedicated father and loving husband. He got married to his wife Karina back in 2007 and they are both still going strong in their relationship. Owens and Karina grew up together, and she stood by him when Owens tried out for amateur matches when he was 16 years old. The two have a son named Owen and a daughter named Élodie Leila.

#5 AJ Styles

Styles with his family
Styles with his family

AJ Styles has taken the WWE by storm and become one of its biggest wrestlers of the century, even though his initial run with a company was not quite eventful. Styles is known as one of the best sports entertainers of all time, and his work in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling has helped him become the most sought after wrestler in the world.

Even though Styles is loved all over the world, he has worked extremely well with his wife to make their marriage last for two decades now. He married Wendy Jones in 2000, and the couple has three sons and a daughter together. An interesting fact to note is that their first son's middle name was taken from the last name of Jones' best friend and fellow wrestler Christopher Daniels, whose real name is Daniel Covell.

The Phenomenal One resides in Gainesville, Georgia along with his family where his wife is a school teacher.

She has recently been used in many storylines during Styles’ run with WWE, with the most prominent one coming during his feud with longtime friend Samoa Joe.

#6 Kane

Kane is one of WWE’s most iconic monsters in the ring but it turns out that he’s just another gentle softie at home. Kane has been WWE’s resident monster for over two decades now and still appears whenever the company requires him to. He has been a part of various twisted storylines made by WWE to lay his effect as a monster effectively.

On-screen, we’ve watched Kane get married to Lita in kayfabe in 2004. But off-screen Kane has been married to Crystal Maurisa Goins since August 23, 1995, and together they have two daughters.

Kane married Crystal just a while after Kane began his illustrious WWE career, and she has stuck with him through all those rough traveling schedules.

Together, they own an Allstate agency in Knoxville, Tennessee, as Kane also works as an insurer and the Mayor of Knox County when he is not playing a monster for WWE.

It's interesting to watch how Kane's in-ring character varies from his real-life one, and how he has managed to make a mark in a completely different and unrelated field while working for the company.

#7 Trish Stratus

Considered the best female wrestler of all time in WWE, Trish Stratus has come far from where she started her career. From just another eye candy to proving herself as a serious wrestler with great talent in the ring, Trish is now a WWE legend. She’s regarded as one of the few women who gave way to the women’s revolution.

The relationship between Trish and her love, Ron Fisico goes back a long way. Trish hasn’t let anything come between her and her childhood sweetheart Ron Fisico after all these years.

The two met during their time in Bayview Secondary School and have been together ever since. Their friendship turned into something more and after dating for a while the two decided to get married on 30 September 2006.

As expected, their wedding reception was attended by several WWE Divas who worked with Trish. Her wedding gown was featured on the cover of Today’s Bride magazine. They now have two children together, with the first being born in 2013 and the second being born recently in 2017. Ron is currently working in the fitness industry with Trish.

#8 Goldberg

Goldberg returned to the ring to wrestle for his son

Goldberg is undoubtedly one of the most well-known wrestlers in the industry. He worked for a few promotions apart from the WWE as well, as was extremely well-known thanks to his undefeated streak.

In the late 1990s, Golberg was one of the most popular professional wrestlers, he was regarded as the top star and public face of WCW at the peak of the Monday Night Wars. His undefeated streak in the singles competition went on from 1997 to 1998, which was considered the longest winning streak in professional wrestling until Asuka surpassed it in 2017.

Even though Goldberg has been an extremely famous wrestler when he married Wanda Ferraton on April 10, 2005, he took a long hiatus from wrestling to focus on his marriage.

Wanda Ferraton is a stunt double, and the two met while filming Santa’s Slay. The couple resides in California and has a son together named Gage.

Gage was the reason Goldberg decided to take it to the squared circle once again and had a short run between 2016-2017 as his son wanted to watch his father wrestle.

#9 Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a third-generation professional wrestler as his grandfather Bob Orton, Sr., his father "Cowboy" Bob Orton, and his uncle Barry Orton were all a part of the professional wrestling business.

He is, without any doubt, one of the most successful and decorated wrestlers in the history of the company and is recognized by WWE as having the fourth-most world championship victories in history. He’s just behind Ric Flair, John Cena, and Triple H, he may well overtake them as he is currently the most active of them all.

Orton first married Samantha Speno back in September 2007. The couple had a daughter together, but they separated in 2012 and divorced a year later.

Three years later, Orton married Kimberly Kessler who is his second wife. The wrestler made a romantic proposal during a candlelit dinner while they were on vacation in Bora Bora. The Viper has revealed that he sneakily hid the ring under a napkin before proposing to her.

An interesting fact about their relationship is that Kimberly was simply just a fan of Randy Orton, and dreamt about just meeting the superstar. Their first child together, daughter Brooklyn Rose Orton, was born on November 22, 2016.

#10 Roman Reigns

One of WWE’s biggest stars and the most famous wrestler is, without a doubt, Roman Reigns. He became the face for the company and remains the poster boy for WWE even after taking a break due to his recent relapse with Leukemia.

Reigns found the love of his life long before he joined WWE and became a household name. He met his wife while the two were still at Georgia Tech University, and he married Galina Joelle Becker in early December 2014.

Galina has remained by Reigns’ side even during the toughest times which has helped grow the bond stronger. The two got married on a private island.

The fans of Roman Reigns saw his wife for the first time at the 2014 Hall Of Fame ceremony of WWE superstars. She has remained by 'The Big Dog's' side during his battle with Leukemia, showing how strong their bond is.

The couple gave birth to their first child, Joelle, and later had twin boys in 2016. Even though Gelina may not be as famous as her husband, she has been active in the fitness modeling industry and used to be a star volleyball player.
