It has been a long time since social media came into being. Having official handles on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram has made it easy for celebs to send their message to millions of fans in one go. WWE, one of the biggest media giants in the world, has a strong social media presence as well. Its Superstars have accounts on all the major platforms where they share photos, videos, and thoughts with fans on a regular basis.

Additionally, Superstars earn some extra money while acting as social media influencers to their millions of fans. On rare occasions, Superstars express their opinion on a topic that immediately becomes major news. In the past, we have seen Superstars attack WWE itself on their social media handles, for something that the company did, which they took exception to. In this list, we will take a look at five times Superstars slammed WWE on social media.

#5 Lana isn't happy with WWE about the 2020 Money in the Bank poster

Earlier this year, when Bobby Lashley and Lana were still together, WWE presented Money in the Bank 2020 from its headquarters in Stamford, CT. When the poster for the event came out, Lana was furious with WWE's marketing team when she noticed that she wasn't on it, and neither was Lashley. Lana put up a rant on her official Twitter handle slamming the WWE marketing team. She reminded WWE that she and Lashley brought ratings without even trying.

Lana and Lashley's stint together in WWE didn't last long

Soon after, Lana and Bobby Lashley's issues grew worse. At Backlash 2020, Lana's interference cost Lashley the WWE title, and this was the last straw for him. Lashley went on to bash Lana on RAW and the duo separated. Lana is currently involved in a storyline with Nia Jax on RAW, while Lashley is doing well for himself in The Hurt Business.

#4 The Undertaker and Michelle McCool slam WWE on Twitter over a list

Back in March, WWE put up a list honoring some of the greatest female Superstars to win a title in the company. The list didn't include former Divas Champion Michelle McCool, and she wasn't happy one bit. McCool posted a heated tweet expressing her anger over WWE snubbing her from the list. What's more, The Undertaker supported McCool fully at the time, and actually went on to post a tweet making it clear that it was too late for making corrections. The tweet was posted after WWE rectified their mistake and added McCool to the list.

The Undertaker is quite possibly the most respected Superstar in history

The Undertaker has spent 30 long years as a WWE Superstar. He is one of the greatest to ever step foot in a WWE ring and was a locker room leader during his prime. The Undertaker is incredibly close to Vince McMahon, and WWE snubbing his wife from the list was bound to make him angry, especially when she deserved the praise.

#3 CM Punk goes overboard while bashing The Miz and takes a shot at WWE as well

Earlier this year, The Miz appeared on an episode of WWE Backstage on FS1. After the show came to an end, The Miz took a cheeky jibe at former WWE Superstar CM Punk, who didn't appear that week. This infuriated Punk to no end, and he took to Twitter to send a response to the former WWE Champion. Punk sent out a profanity-filled rant to The Miz on Twitter and didn't forget to target WWE in the process.

The former WWE Champion later deleted the controversial tweet

In his tweet, CM Punk referred to The Miz as a dork. Additionally, he dubbed the money WWE earns from its shows in Saudi Arabia as 'blood money'. Punk's tweet immediately garnered tons of social media attention, and the WWE Universe was divided in its response to his rant. Punk later realized that he had gone too far while responding to The Miz's jibe, and went on to delete the tweet. The Miz was asked about the tweet months later, and he seemed genuinely surprised at Punk's outrage.

#2 Ronda Rousey says wrestling is fake in heated YouTube rant

On the road to WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch was quite active on Twitter and was regularly slamming both Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in her tweets. At one point, Lynch involved Rousey's husband Travis Browne in the mix and took a major shot at him. The Baddest Woman on the Planet was left in a fit of anger, and she fired back by calling Becky Lynch by her real name. Later, Rousey slammed WWE as well, on her official YouTube channel. Ronda Rousey dubbed wrestling as being fake and took a shot at the fans as well.

It’s not an act. I’m not going out there and doing their f**king act anymore. They can say it’s part of the act to try and save face to everyone else, but it’s not an act. I’m going out there and I’m doing whatever the hell I want and they can explain it away however they want but f**k 'em. Everybody. WWE Universe included. I meant that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. Aw, don’t break kayfabe, Ronda. Wrestling is scripted, it’s made up, it’s not real. None of those bitches can touch me. The end.

Ronda Rousey hasn't wrestled in WWE for more than a year now

Becky Lynch wasn't happy about the comments, and called them 'disrespectful'. Earlier this year, Rousey targeted WWE again, and also took a shot at the fans by calling them 'ungrateful'. Rousey went on a hiatus following her loss to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. She hasn't made a return to WWE ever since then.

#1 Paige has had enough and goes on an anti-WWE rant on Twitch

WWE's mandate forcing Superstars to close down their Twitch handles recently caused quite a controversy on social media, with the majority of fans slamming the company for the new rule. Paige, who had retired following a career-ending injury in 2018, was one of several Superstars who were unhappy with WWE's rule. Recently, when Paige learned that WWE was going ahead with the mandate and she could be next after AJ Styles and others, she went on a long rant targeting the company on her Twitch handle.

I have honestly gotten to the point, I cannot deal with this company anymore.
I’m a f***ing injured wrestler, I cannot wrestle anymore. I get used for media stuff sometimes but at the end of the day, I’m in my f***ing house. I’m going f***ing crazy, dude. I need something to keep me f***ing sane man. Twitch was my escape from that.

Paige didn't mince her words while slamming WWE on Twitch

Paige later posted an update on her Twitch status and made it clear that she will keep streaming on the platform. There's no news yet in regards to WWE's reaction to Paige's decision. Paige's mom Saraya Knight tweeted her support towards her daughter as well, along with her millions of fans.
