Here's what could go down at WWE WrestleMania 36

It's that time of the year when WWE goes all-out with its grandest show, WrestleMania. For the first time ever, this year's event will be broadcasted across two nights and it'll also air from different locations.

Even though 'Mania 36 will take place with no audience in attendance, it can still turn out to be a very memorable show, especially with how stacked the card is. A lot could happen at the 'Showcase of the Immortals'. New champions could be crowned, feuds will be settled and new stars could be created.

With that being said, here are 7 things that could happen at the 36th edition of WWE WrestleMania.

#7. Shayna Baszler defeats Becky Lynch to win the RAW Women's Championship

Shayna Baszler could walk out with the RAW Women's Title

'The Queen of Spades' Shayna Baszler will clash with 'The Man' Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship in what could be a very brutal fight. Baszler is not your average female Superstar.

She made a name for herself in mixed martial arts and in NXT with her brutal and sadistic ways. Baszler shockingly bit Lynch on her neck and left her bloodied on an episode of RAW. At Elimination Chamber, she made history by single-handedly eliminating all the other competitors in the match.

This match will no doubt be very hard-hitting and these two women will go all-out to destroy one another. 'The Man' has a huge task ahead of her, but it could all come crashing down if Shayna Baszler dethrones her to win the RAW Women's title at WrestleMania 36.

The two Superstars could continue feuding after 'Mania and perhaps Ronda Rousey could make a shocking return to help Bazler defeat Lynch once again, ending the feud and reigniting Lynch's feud with the 'Baddest Woman on the Planet'.

#6. Sasha Banks wins the SmackDown Women's Championship

Could this be Sasha Banks' time?

'The Boss' Sasha Banks was a hot commodity as soon as she returned to WWE last year after SummerSlam following her absence from the company. She was immediately placed into a title feud with Becky Lynch which culminated at Hell in a Cell, inside the demonic structure.

Even though Banks failed to win the title from Lynch, she did, however, save the latter's title reign after her disappointing feud with Lacey Evans. 'The Boss' is one of the most popular Superstars on the roster and there's no doubt that she deserves another title run, but this time, it should be a lengthy one.

Her best friend Bayley, who is the reigning SmackDown Women's Champion, will put her title on the line in a fatal 5-way elimination match. The other three women could be eliminated from the match, leaving Bayley and Banks to battle it out for the title.

Bayley could then refuse to fight her best friend, only for Banks to turn on her and pin her to win the title. This will then set up a feud between the two after WrestleMania.

#5. The Undertaker emerges with a different persona

Could 'Taker show up with an entirely new look?

The Undertaker and AJ Styles are currently involved in a very personal feud that has taken a realistic approach, something we rarely see in professional wrestling. The two stars even broke kayfabe by calling each other by their real names.

For decades, we have seen 'The Deadman' walk up and down the ring with his eerie entrance and evil persona which has left many of us in the WWE Universe scared. But recently, there have been some minor changes to The Phenom's character.

After 'Taker surprisingly showed up at Super ShowDown and defeated Styles, the Phenomenal One called out not The Undertaker but Mark Callaway, the man who plays the demonic character in WWE. Styles also brought Callaway's wife Michelle McCool into the fold.

During their contract signing, 'Taker showed up with a new look. Instead of coming down the aisle with his hat and long black trenchcoat, he instead emerged with a less gothic look. Styles and The Undertaker are set to clash in a Boneyard match at 'Mania and at the event, we could possibly see the man Mark Callaway instead of The Deadman.

#4. Edge defeats Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match

Will Edge get retribution from Randy Orton?
Will Edge get retribution from Randy Orton?

Edge stunned the world when he made his return at the Royal Rumble after a nine-year hiatus from in-ring competition. Unfortunately, that was all nearly taken away after The Viper Randy Orton attacked Edge and laid waste to him with a con-chair-to.

To make matters worse, Orton went further by RKO-ing Edge's wife Beth Phoenix. The Viper crossed all the lines and at WrestleMania, the two former Tag Team Champions have the opportunity to tear each other apart in a Last Man Standing match.

This will be the 'Rated-R Superstar's first one-on-one match since he retired in 2011. Thus, Edge is expected to win the match. Orton and Edge know each other very well, and Edge is very familiar with this type of match and he has everything he needs to defeat Orton.

Not only will he be avenging his life and career, which Orton almost took, but he'll also be avenging his wife. This gives him enough motive heading into the match.

#3. Goldberg drops the Universal Championship to his WrestleMania opponent

Golberg is set to defend his Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36, but it's not known who his opponent exactly is. Roman Reigns is currently advertised as Goldberg's opponent, but according to reports, Reigns has been removed from the match.

Whoever faces Goldberg at WrestleMania, there's a high chance that person will be the new Universal Champion. According to Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue, the WWE Hall of Famer will likely drop the title at the 'Show of Shows'.

Goldberg dethroned 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt at WWE Super ShowDown to win the title and due to his status as a part-timer, it's possible that he was just a transition champion, meaning he was given the title so that he could drop it to his WrestleMania 36 opponent, which was originally supposed to be Roman Reigns.

Perhaps Goldberg's new opponent will be revealed on the upcoming episode of SmackDown this Friday night. Whether it's Jeff Hardy, Braun Strowman or whoever it may be, they have a high chance of walking out with SmackDown's top prize.

#2. Suprise returns/debuts

We could see a few surprise returns at the Show of Shows

WrestleMania is known as a worldwide spectacle for a reason. Millions of people tune in to watch the event every year because it is one of WWE's most unpredictable shows. Over the years, we have seen a lot of Superstar returns and debuts on the show.

This year's event could be no different. Last year we saw the return of the 'Doctor of Thugnamoics' and the year before that we saw the in-ring debut of Ronda Rousey. There's no denying that a Superstar returning to no fans in attendance will be odd and lackluster, but to keep the spirit of WrestleMania alive, WWE could go all-in with it.

Superstars such as Nia Jax and Lars Sulivan, who have been absent from WWE TV for months, could make a return at the event.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nia Jax is clear to return and it's just a matter of time before we see her again on WWE TV.

"Nia Jax has been medically cleared to return after reconstructive surgery on both knees. It’s just a question of when they want to start her back and where. Right now she’s earmarked for RAW, and not SmackDown as has been reported in many places."

Regarding 'The Freak' Lars Sullivan, Meltzer stated:

"Another name who should be ready but whose future is uncertain is Lars Sullivan. Sullivan underwent knee reconstruction surgery in June, so should be ready fairly soon. His name hasn’t been mentioned at all of late."

#1. Drew McIntyre wins the WWE Championship

Will this be the sight at WrestleMania 36?
Will this be the sight at WrestleMania 36?

Drew McIntyre is headed to the main event of WrestleMania 36 where he'll challenge 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar for RAW's top prize, the WWE Championship. 'The Scottish Psychopath' earned the right to face Lesnar after he won the 2020 Men's Royal Rumble match.

After being promised the world title a decade ago, McIntyre could finally make his dreams come true by defeating Lesnar to capture the title. A single Claymore Kick or two to Lesnar's skull could be enough to put 'The Beast' down for good.

If 'The Scottish Psychopath' defeats Brock Lesnar, the WWE Championship will once again be a part of Monday Night RAW on a full-time basis, where it rightfully deserves to be.

Mcintyre managed to get the better of Lesnar at the Royal Rumble and on several episodes of RAW and if he does the same thing at 'Mania, he could walk out as the WWE Champion for the first time in his career.
