"Whatever is done for Virat bhaiya is very less" - RCB seamer's huge claim after team's IPL 2025 triumph

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) seamer Yash Dayal has weighed in on Virat Kohli's dream of winning the IPL trophy coming true, having given his 18 years to the franchise. The left-arm seamer hopes to win the title with RCB again in the future.

Kohli was finally able to fulfil his quest of winning the IPL this year, as RCB sneaked in a six-run win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. The 36-year-old, who has played for the franchise since 2008, top-scored with 43 off 35 deliveries to help the side reach 190. Later, Krunal Pandya delivered an outstanding bowling spell of 2/17 to seal the victory.

Speaking to The Times of India, Dayal said:

"Whatever is done for Virat bhaiya is very less. He has given this franchise 18 years and has seen so many ups and downs. And we are very happy to have won the trophy and want to repeat it in the future also."

Kohli also had a bumper season with the bat, registering 657 runs in 14 innings at 54.75, making him the third-highest run-getter of the tournament.

In the same interview, Dayal revealed that he particularly enjoyed working with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, claiming that the Aussie seamer consistently bowls at the perfect spot. The 27-year-old said:

"Both of them are world-class bowlers. Bhuvi bhaiya and Josh Hazlewood joining the team after the auction made my work very easy. I was stress-free and as a unit, we followed simple bowling plans and stuck to them. I enjoyed working with them a lot and would like to do so in the future also. What I have learned from Josh is to bowl at the perfect spot. The top of off-stump with pace. What we say is bowling on a coin without consistently being erratic."

Hazlewood emerged as the highest-wicket taker for RCB, picking up 22 scalps in 12 innings.
