Demon Slayer: Some of the most disturbing facts involving Inosuke and plenty of others that fans tend to overlook

1) Inosuke actually got Tanjiro’s name right in the series

Inosuke Hashibira is one of the most confident demon hunters. He never shows any vulnerability and always trusts his ability to emerge victorious in a fight. However, this wasn’t the case in the Sunrise Countdown arc. Towards the end, Muzan turned Tanjiro into a demon.

Not only did he become a demon, he also conquered the sun. Just when the demon hunters were about to celebrate, they saw their closest friend become a demon. Inosuke never called Tanjiro by his name up until this point.

The only time Inosuke got his name right was when he turned into a demon and attempted to kill Inosuke for getting in his way. Inosuke resolved to cut down Tanijro but later admitted that he couldn’t. This clearly reflects the sheer psychological damage that affected Inosuke in the Demon Slayer series.

2) Hakuji lost his mentor and wife after attempting to turn over a new leaf

Hakuji was his human name before he became the Upper Moon 3 demon. Hakuji pickpocketed to help buy some medicine for his father. However, his father died, and he was also told that he wouldn’t consume medicine that was acquired through unfair means.

Enraged, Hakuji picked fights and killed people before Keizo, the owner of a dojo, approached him. After a series of failed attempts to defeat Keizo, he admitted defeat. Keizo then took Hakuji under his wing and put a roof over his head.

In exchange, he nursed Keizo’s daughter back to normal and fended off the rival dojo members. He went on to marry Keizo’s daughter and lived an honorable life. Soon after the wedding, the rival dojo poisoned the well that killed his mentor and his wife. Just when he escaped the circumstance that held him captive, the life he dreamt of was taken away once again - a moment most Demon Slayer fans tend to forget about.

3) Gyutaro was tormented in the most twisted ways

Gyutaro has one of the saddest backstories in the Demon Slayer series. Not only was he born ugly in a red-light district, where beauty is everything, but he also saw his sister work in this industry. His mother didn’t love him; the only good aspect of his life was his sister.

Even that was taken away from him when a Samurai burned her alive for stabbing him in the eye. Gyutaro watched his own sister get burned while having to hear the perpetrator justify his actions and berate her.

He was traumatized to the point where he didn’t flinch even once when he took the lives of people. To make things worse, he saw his sister die before his eyes and even heard her hurl insults at him moments before his death. While the two seemingly made up before they died, Gyutaro was certainly subjected to some of the disturbing things one can experience.

4) Rui psychologically tortured his “family”

Rui’s false sense of familial relationships led to plenty of demons being abused daily. The mother of the so-called “family” was no saint since she took the lives of several demon hunters. However, she was ab*sed daily. Both Rui and the Father demon often displayed violence towards her because of her apparent weakness. The frequency of the ab*se was so high that it completely destroyed her psychologically.

Tanjiro Kamado was the one to deliver the final blow. Even in her final moments, she embraced death with her arms wide open. Such was the plight since death was better than staying alive and being a part of an accursed family that Rui enforced. Fear can never unite something as pure as a family. Demon Slayer fans often overlook her feelings in the series since she is a supporting character who isn’t quite relevant to the story.

5) Obanai’s trauma caused by his own family

Not only did a demon do enough psychological damage to Obanai, but his own family betrayed him as well. His own family offered Obanai Iguro to a snake demon. Since the demon took a liking to his heterochromia, he was forced inside a cage and was constantly fed food. The smell can be extremely nauseating, and he could never sleep in peace since he could feel the demon’s gaze on him.

The darkness didn’t let him locate the demon either, further intensifying his fear. He was also physically scarred by the Snake demon in a manner that made his appearance resemble the demon’s. All of the bad things that he was forced to experience were due to his own family - something no one has to go through in their lives.

These are some of the most disturbing things that Demon Slayer fans often tend to overlook. While some events were pretty important, they tend to be swept under the rug when we take a look at the big picture, which is the fight against Muzan.
