Tower of God plot

The Tower of God story revolves around a little child named Twenty-Fifth Baam. The word "Bam" can signify "Night" or "Chestnut" in Korean. With the exception of his close friend Rachel, he has spent most of his life imprisoned beneath a massive and mysterious tower.

Baam gets horrified when Rachel goes into the Tower. He opened the Tower door somehow and he will stop at nothing to see Rachel once again, even if it means losing his life. He encounters allies inside the Tower who aid him in climbing it.

"The Tower" is a strange, fully enclosed structure that houses a variety of strange surroundings. A weird substance known as "Shinsu" infuses it and has peculiar qualities similar to magic in other comic worlds. There are several intelligent species living inside.

Production

On June 30, 2010, Lee Jong-hui, more commonly known by his pen as S.I.U. ("Slave In Utero"), debuted "Tower of God" on Naver Webtoon. Tower of God has received 4.5 billion views globally as of February 2020. In July 2014, Line Webtoon released official English translations for a few webtoons, including Tower of God.

The show debuted on April 1, 2020, on Aniplus, a television network in South Korea, then on Tokyo MX and other networks in Japan from April 2 to June 24, 2020. As a co-production, Crunchyroll streamed the Japanese broadcast of the series under the "Crunchyroll Originals" banner.
